Civic engagement is an important component of the Pre-Vet Society. The Society is currently spearheading several projects in line with our goal of aiding both the animal and local community. See below to read about our various activities.

How to Help

Polo Team Volunteering

If you would like to gain valuable experience working with horses, you can sign up to help feed the Polo Team’s horses. If there are no current openings being advertised during meetings, feel free to email Mathilde at externalaffairstamuprevet@gmail.com and she may be able to add you as a replacement throughout the semester!

Other Volunteer Opportunities

Refer to the calendar of events (Here) on this site for other volunteer opportunities, and come to meetings to stay updated on everything going on this semester!

For all other Pre-Vet Society hosted events, please make sure you have filled out all necessary paperwork to be able to attend the designated activity. To access the waiver, please click here.

*Outside Hours* Please download a volunteer record sheet by clicking here. Please make sure to include the date, location of service, activity, hours, and have a signature when volunteering outside of Pre-Vet. 10 outside volunteer hours can be counted toward your Distinguished Membership for a total of 10 points. You can bring this form to a meeting or send a picture of the completed form to secretarytamuprevet@gmail.com.

Cancellation Policy for Volunteering Opportunities

Members have 24 hours after they receive a reminder/info email to cancel with no penalty. If this policy is not followed, members will have half of the set points from the event docked from the semester point total.

Please check our google calendar for events here!

Carpooling Document

What is this?

  • The Riding Document can be found here. This document serves as a way for members to find an easier way towards finding rides to our different events.

How can I use this?

  • If you are searching for a ride, enter your info in the red column on the left. If you are willing to give a ride (and gain points by doing so!), use the blue column on the right.
  • You MUST fill out a driving waiver and turn it into secretarytamuprevet@gmail.com before getting in the car- otherwise, the ride was not “approved” by PVS and you cannot get points! The driving release waiver is found on our website under the links tab. If you complete the waiver and turn it in before driving, you can get one point for driving the member to the meeting and one for driving them back.
  • Once you have found a ride or your car is full, please try to remove your name from the document so others are not contacting you unwantedly. Please check the document frequently to find riders or drivers!
